Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026

This policy explains what happens to information when you use Abacvia. The short version: by default your financial records stay in your browser, an account is entirely optional, and we do not sell data — to anyone.

Data stored on your device

Calculators run entirely in your browser and do not transmit the values you enter. By default, the expense tracker stores your transactions in your browser’s IndexedDB. In this default mode your data:

  • is not uploaded to our servers;
  • is not included in analytics or advertising;
  • can be exported or deleted by you at any time from within the tool;
  • is removed if you clear your browser’s site data.

Optional accounts

Accounts exist only to support the optional cross-device sync described below — every tool works without one. If you create an account, we store your email address, a cryptographically hashed password (we never see the password itself), and the display name you provide. Verification and sign-in emails are delivered through a third-party email delivery service, which receives the address solely to send that message. Sign-in sets a session cookie so the site can recognize you on return visits.

Optional cloud sync

The expense tracker can sync your records across devices when you are signed in and have explicitly turned sync on in that browser. While sync is enabled, the transactions and categories you record are stored on our servers (Cloudflare) under your account and transferred to your other devices. Deleting a record in the tracker propagates the deletion to the server and your other devices. Turning sync off stops all uploads but keeps what was already synced; deleting your account from the account page erases everything stored on our servers. Records kept only in this browser are not affected. If you never turn sync on, no financial record ever leaves your browser.

Information we do not collect

Without an account we do not collect names, email addresses, or any financial data. With an account, we collect only what is described above — never income or expense amounts beyond the sync data you explicitly enable, and never bank credentials of any kind.

Analytics

When enabled, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand which tools are used. Events are limited to non-sensitive actions (for example “calculator viewed” or “template downloaded”) and never include amounts or other financial values.

Advertising and cookies

The site is funded by advertising. When ads are enabled, Google AdSense and its partners may set cookies to deliver and measure ads. See the cookie policy for details and choices.

Local storage and deletion

Preferences (like theme choices) are stored in your browser’s localStorage. You can delete all locally stored data at any time via your browser settings (“clear site data”), or by using the delete controls inside the expense tracker.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the updated date above will change and significant changes will be described on this page.
